Manije is an accomplished Iranian artist who aspires to help raise the profile and proficiency of art in Canada.
Becoming an artist was her childhood dream; but in high-school she excelled in math and science, so her family encouraged her to study Economics at Pahlavi (Shiraz) University. After graduation, she found employment as a financial and budget manager with one of the largest Hydro Companies in Iran.
In the evenings, she studied oil-painting, water-colour, and drawing. Her skills in math and science helped: geometry, physics, and chemistry sharpened her understanding of such essentials as the interaction of light and shadow, reflection, perspective, and colour. Manije has produced official photography for several electricity companies in Iran; and she has combined drawing, painting and photography in her creative work.
